Saturday is the day! The Call Sheets have been sent out, the updated shot list is...updated. Cast and crew are ready. And I have a sweet rental from Enterprise. I went with them mainly because I'm a Trekkie.
This has been an incredible eight month journey! It's not over yet but the preparation is. We couldn't have done this without the cast and crew we have. It's cliche to say, but in all honesty
If you lived in Nova Scotia over the past few weeks you are well aware of the challenges we have been facing by the Liberal government. Not something I would ever think I'd say as a filmmaker. The Liberal government giving arts a problem. All of the short films in the Film 5 program were put on hold when Film and Creative Services was shut down and the work transferred to NSBI. But, thanks to a ton of social media, Global TV and CBC interviews, we are back in the game! All the Film 5's can continue since the funding has been rightfully released to the Atlantic Filmmaker's Cooperative. Many productions are put on hold for various reasons, but when a short film is put on hold, that normally means death. However we have received a tremendous amount of support from our cast, crew and the local community. Our new shoot dates are May 23rd and May 24th. We are very excited and want to thank everyone who has already dedicated so much time and love into this project.
